Leah
Writer & Embroidery Artist
ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm a 40-something dreamer with a day job in healthcare, a loving husband, and two crazy cats. I'm a self-taught embroidery artist, and I also knit, crochet, quilt, sew, and I'm learning to weave. I'm passionate about the worlds of textile arts and history and want to help share these worlds with others.
As an undergraduate I studied Natural Resource Management & Geology at Colorado State University, and received an MA in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2014. My textile work is heavily influenced by the act of personal journaling, poetry, and discovery through stitch, as well as the power of nature as a healing presence in our lives.
I've always written in one form or another, and these days I'm writing poetry and archaeologically-inspired fiction.
I'm honored to have been included in the following publications:
Poetry:
- A Kinder Kindling Than Most (2024)
- Tangerine Lit Issue 003 (2024)
2023 Article in the Oldham Era Newspaper Learning Through Creation
